Intervention Therapy

Aftercare is a regular part of Intervention Therapy. Many families and their loved one may be exhausted by the continuous effort; this is understandable! It is hard work, and yet it must be done. When you arrive at this point in your Recovery marathon, we are ready to supply you with the services and support you need to keep going.

This transformation is not easy, but it can be done. We offer these stages of support because we understand that relapsing is a continuous threat.

In the Post Intervention stage, the loved one is participating with their team and is making progress. They may be attending 12-Step meetings and may be participating in one of our sober companion programs.

We may have worked out something specifically designed for their unique needs. However, the specific Intervention Follow Up plan that you decide upon is not nearly as important as your commitment to seeing it through.

Because these services may be needed for six months or longer, we have developed flexible templates that allow us to meet your greatest needs. The Intervention Aftercare, just like the Intervention Therapy, is a customized process that will maximize your strong areas and build a Recovery plan around them. These services typically include:

  • Telephone Support and Recovery Management

  • Extensions on Program Enrollment

  • Recovery Planning and Implementation Sessions

The need for continuous support Post Intervention should not be overlooked. Intervention Aftercare helps support and maintains all of the previous work that has been accomplished. It provides continuous access to Recovery resources when needed, and it can provide the needed support services to both the family and to their loved one.

When you call us and ask about our services, please be ready to tell us about your situation so that we can give you the preliminary guidance that you may need to get the process started.

When you contact us for the first time, it is likely that you may think that the Intervention is a one-time event that will take care of the problem. We encourage you to consider how many years that this problem with your loved one has been developing. It may take that long to undo, although there are always some people who respond faster, while others may require more time.

After Intervention

Regardless of the plan you decide to use, After Intervention management should play an important role in the initial stages of planning. This area may be the difference between a short-term recovery and a complete transformation of your loved one.

However, the threat of relapse must be met with preparation. We do this by:

  • Preparing a network of customized management for your loved one after the Intervention.

  • Providing the family and friends with training and education so they can meet their supporting role.

  • Planning from day one to ensure that your loved one is committed to their long-term Recovery.

Without any one of these steps, the likelihood for a relapse increases. We can no longer afford to wait for our loved ones to hit "rock bottom!" This is a disastrous approach to dependency problems that has already claimed too many lives. I think that it is not enough to merely criticize this approach; this is why I offer your family another way through Intervention Therapy.

As always, the strength is in the numbers; our caring and supporting network is here to help you make the transformation of your loved one a success. We understand that there are problems underneath the behavior that may begin to surface when the loved one's sobriety is multiplied by a number of weeks.

These first months can be critical. If the underlying cause of their dependency has not already surfaced, these are the months when it is likely to arise. When that happens, as it often does, it certainly helps to have the supporting framework in place so that even if it becomes a crisis, it will not likely become a disaster.

As you can see, this can be a bumpy road, but the alternative is usually much worse. Please consider the costs of doing nothing against the nominal costs of our programs.

As a person who was once there myself, I believe that I could not have survived my addiction without the loving Intervention of my family and friends.

I built the Intervention Specialists on the premise that people can change their loved one because no one really wants to be addicted.

Rather, what the dependency indicates is a gaping need for love and connection that the closest family and friends are uniquely positioned to fulfill.

“Even after my son agreed to go into therapy for his drug abuse, I still didn't believe that this program would work.

I thought we would get a little help and send him back with nothing but a pat on the back for luck. I was so wrong!

We got follow-up help, phone calls, appointments and a sober companion to help him have a social life that didn't involve drugs.

He told me he didn't even think that was possible!"
